  • This style of massage is designed to help you feel better at a time which may have left you feeling unnerved, overwhelmed, anxious, fatigued, isolated, nauseous, stressed and dealing with a wide variety of symptoms

  • Massage has been shown to be beneficial in improving wellbeing, boosting the immune system, reducing stress and anxiety, calming the nervous system, increasing quality of sleep, improving mood & appetite and reducing the length of hospital stays.

  • The balance of each treatment works around how you feel on the day, what is comfortable for you, where you are in your treatment journey, energy levels, and what you want from the treatment.

  • It’s important to not demand anything from your body therefore the intensity has been adapted to reduce the depth of pressure and have shorter sessions at a time of the day you feel your best.

  • There is no pressure on the day if you are not feeling up to receiving a treatment

  • For anyone concerned about the safety of receiving massage at this time please be reassured that it is safe and beneficial

  • Cancer arises from gene mutation and is not spread through the mechanical pressure of massage. I have specifically been trained in what needs to be avoided at this time, and what would feel most welcome.

When one of my regular clients was diagnosed with cancer and indicated he would still like massage treatments, I wanted to better understand how I could support him and ensure I could work with him safely. I undertook Oncology massage training and was grateful I could put my training into practice with someone with whom I was familiar.

It was a powerful learning experience for me and taught me the value of ‘less is more’. Any cancer journey can be triggering and emotive for the patient and their support network but it was an absolute privilege to be a part of his, and to feel I was doing something worthwhile in contributing to lessening someone’s unease.
